The Enfants Riches Déprimés Mother Child Jacket takes something sacred and lets it fade. Cut in soft light-grey suede with a black leather collar, it borrows the shape of a working man’s jacket and fills it with something that never clocks in.
The front is quiet and deliberate: a full-zip closure, a zip chest pocket, twin flap pockets below, and the circular “Enfants Déprimés” mark stamped small over the left chest — a signature that reads more like a warning. The suede is matte and lived-in, the collar glossed against it like a bruise on grey skin.
Turn it over and the back opens into a screen-printed mother and child — a Madonna dissolving into ink, tender and half-erased, the way memory handles the people who raised you. It doesn’t preach. It just sits there, unresolved.
