Enfants Riches Deprimes “Monopoly On Suffering” Shirt

The Monopoly On Suffering shirt doesn’t pretend pain is shared property — it prints the claim in block capitals and dares you to argue with it.

“ENFNTS” sits stacked and stark across the chest, the kind of type you’d expect on a condemned building, not a t-shirt. Beneath it, a grainy halftone portrait — a child’s face rendered in ghost-blue and static, half-smiling like it already knows how the story ends. Running vertically along the image’s edge, in tight rotated script: “monopoly on suffering v. 2.2” — a footnote nobody asked for, filed anyway. “RICHES DÉPRIMÉS” closes the composition at the base, finishing the sentence the brand started in 2012. The whole graphic sits like propaganda for a country that only exports despair.

Built oversized and unisex from 500gsm heirloom-grade cotton, this tee carries more weight than its silhouette lets on — dense fabric meant to outlast the trend cycle it refuses to participate in. Every piece is produced in strictly limited micro-batches and individually hand-finished, so read up on garment care before you get too comfortable with it. Available in S, M, L, XL.

Founded in 2012 by conceptual artist Henri Alexander Levy, Enfants Riches Déprimés — French for “Depressed Rich Kids” — was built to collide 1970s French avant-garde tailoring with raw punk nihilism. The result isn’t clothing meant to include you; it’s hyper-exclusive, deliberately isolating, an object built to sit apart from everything else in your closet the way its wearer feels apart from everything else in the room.

Crafted across Los Angeles (USA), Italy, and Japan.

Suffering was never yours alone. This shirt just says so out loud.
