“Q. HOW CAN THE MASSES BE MADE TO DESIRE THEIR OWN REPRESSION?” runs across the top in pale blue type, the kind of line that sounds academic until you actually sit with it. Below sits a tightly cropped photo — half a face, one eye locked forward, the rest lost in shadow and grain. “A. FASCINATION: SPECTACLE SEDUCED BY ITS OWN PROMISCUITY” closes it out beneath the image, an answer that raises more questions than it settles.

Henri Alexander Levy started Enfants Riches Déprimés in 2012. The name means “Depressed Rich Kids.” Same fight the label’s always run on — old French tailoring against punk that never learned to sit still.
