The Enfants Riches Déprimés Eagle Belt is Americana with the wings clipped. Cut from black leather and anchored by a heavy silver eagle buckle, it takes the oldest symbol of freedom and freezes it in tarnished metal — a bird that used to mean something, worn by people who stopped believing it.

The details are bold and severe: a large antiqued silver buckle sculpted into a spread-winged eagle, pyramid studs set near the closure, an iron-cross keeper, and a matching engraved metal tip. The leather is matte black and lived-in; the hardware is heavy and cold, the eagle mid-flight and going nowhere, talons out over a strip of hide.
