Erd Barbara Jacket

The ERD Barbara Jacket dresses violence up in soft fabric and lets it sit there, unresolved. Cast in a faded, dusty rose velvet, it’s a jacket that looks gentle from across the room and considerably less gentle up close.

Across the back, “enfants riches déprimés” is inked in a heavy gothic script, arched above an illustration lifted straight from religious martyrdom — a bearded, hooded figure gripping a blade against a cross, rendered in rough, woodcut-style linework like something torn out of an old missal and reprinted somewhere it doesn’t belong. It’s devotional and violent in the same breath, which is the point. On the front, the jacket stays quiet — a clean point collar, full front zip, slash hip pockets, and a small “e.r.d.” script mark near the chest, almost apologetic next to what’s happening on the back. Elasticated hem and snap cuffs pull the silhouette into a rounded, bomber-adjacent shape.

Made in soft-hand cotton velvet with an oversized unisex fit, this is a jacket built to soften with wear while the graphic stays exactly as sharp as the day it was printed — check the garment care before you clean it, since velvet doesn’t forgive mistakes. Runs S, M, L, XL.

Founded in 2012 by conceptual artist Henri Alexander Levy, Enfants Riches Déprimés — French for “Depressed Rich Kids” — has spent over a decade forcing 1970s French avant-garde tailoring into open conflict with raw punk nihilism. Each piece functions as a hyper-exclusive, isolating object rather than a simple garment — devotional in its own broken way.

Crafted across Los Angeles (USA), Italy, and Japan.

Saints don’t get to choose how they’re remembered. Neither does this jacket.
